Last night at dinnertime, I had had it! The kids had been driving me crazy, and Otto had been out of town all day and came home later than usual, and I was done! I was frustrated, and mad and everything in between! So, I announced at dinner that afterwards I was going to go for a run. I have never done this before (I actually have not ever been a big fan of running) but I was so mad and frustrated that I just needed to leave and since I was still in my running attire, I thought that I had nothing to lose.
And so I ran. . . . and I ran. . . and I ran. . . and I ran. I ended up running over 6 Kilometers and walking 2 more. With my intervals that I had done that morning that put me over 10 Km's! I did it! I couldn't believe it! It wasn't even that hard, and I probably could have done the whole 10 Km's that night except that it was starting to get dark and I couldn't see. I also did the 8 Kilometers in about 45 minutes which means that I can probably do 10 kilometers in just over an hour! Yay!!!! I am so thrilled! I have only been training for two weeks and I am getting so close to my goal! Now I just have to speed things up I think and keep getting my body in shape!
I was so pumped about last night that when I got to my mom's house this morning I was so excited to run. Well. . . my body had other plans! My hip really started to hurt and my body said "NO!!!" So, I walked for an hour and a half instead. It was at a brisk pace and at least it was better than nothing right? I think my body just didn't have enough time to recover from the run last night. That's okay though, I will keep working on it! At least now I know that I will be able to run in the race!
